Lucent Technologies to Sponsor More Than 100 Volunteer Events as Part of the 10th Global Days of Caring Event: "On April 23 and 24,
Lucent Technologies (NYSE: LU) employees around the world will volunteer in their communities as part of the company's 10th 'Global Days of Caring' (GDOC) event. Sponsored by the Lucent Technologies Foundation, GDOC is the company's signature volunteer initiative. This event encourages Lucent employees, retirees, friends and family members to participate in community service projects planned in Lucent communities around the world.

As part of Global Days of Caring 2004, more than 3,500 employees
volunteered 37,000 hours at 257 projects in 14 countries around the world.
Since the program's inception, Lucent employees have logged more than 520,000
volunteer hours at 2,519 projects in 21 U.S. states and 20 countries."
