Blogs as 'expression zones' are the trend and blogs by women are especially widely read. Private yet public, blogs allow a glimpse of China's true feelings and attitudes.
Charity comes to China: China is discovering the joy of giving. Spurred by an outpouring of concern during last year's Tsunami, individual Chinese from all walks of life are now giving to charity. Though by international standards the sums are low and campaigns limited, they are starting to appear. China's new rich as well as corporate philanthropy are taking off and Chinese companies are finding that charitable giving can be part of an overall policy of corporate social responsibility."
