A New AFP Partnership
AFP has launched a profile on “ammado” (www.ammado.com). ammado is an online community connecting nonprofits, socially responsible companies, and engaged individuals who want to effect change at a global and local level.
This blog first made mention of ammado last year when the site was used to network attendees of the International Fundraising Conference in Amsterdam (October 2007). Of particular interest is ammado’s global donations feature, the ammado Giving Circle which allows people to donate to their favorite nonprofits from all over the world. Donors can choose from 33 different currencies for their donations, and even the smallest contributions are displayed in an innovative and appealing new way. All nonprofits, big or small, national or international, can join ammado for free. Check out the AFP profile, at http://www.ammado.com/nonprofit/afp, also the AFP Foundation for Philanthropy at http://www.ammado.com/nonprofit/afpfoundation.
AFP is now partnering with ammado to help members network with colleagues around the world. To celebrate the partnership and the season of giving, ammado will give the first 10,000 AFP members who create a profile on ammado an e-voucher for $1.00 to spend on the cause of their choice. What can a mere dollar do? One dollar can, for example, get a child vaccinated against the measles or provide safe drinking water for a child for 50 days. Get your e-voucher, make a donation—even to your own organization on ammado—join the AFP profile and reach out to your fundraising colleagues by creating your network! AFP members can use this link to get started.

Redefine Christmas
Redefine Christmas: "Redefining Christmas
It's not about reinventing the holiday. It's about changing the way we look at gift giving and receiving. It's taking money we usually spend on obligatory gifts with little meaning, and creating gifts of charity that give in multiple ways, to the receiver, the giver, and people who truly need."
