NEW YORK, Feb. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- Schools, libraries and nonprofit organizations across the United States will receive 150,000 new and gently used books collected by Verizon employees during December. Season's Readings,Verizon's fifth annual national book drive and reading campaign, was conducted at company sites across the nation.
Employees and their families also pledged 1.6 million minutes (or more than 27,000 hours) to read to their children or others at literacy centers, libraries, schools and other organizations in their communities throughout the coming year. Since 2001, Verizon employees nationwide have donated almost 2 million books to some 3,500 schools, libraries and nonprofits and pledged more than 250,000 of hours of reading time."
